Once upon a time, in a beautiful country far away, there was a magical green forest. This forest was very big and full of tall trees, colorful flowers, and sweet fruits. It was the perfect home for many animals and birds.
In this forest, everyone lived in peace. There were playful rabbits hopping around the bushes, and beautiful peacocks dancing in the rain with their blue feathers. The birds sang sweet songs every morning, and the cool breeze made the forest very calm.
Among all these animals, there lived a very big elephant. Although he was the largest animal in the forest, he was very kind and gentle. He walked slowly so that he would not step on small insects. He never troubled anyone. All the animals loved him because he was like a big, friendly brother to everyone.
The Entry of the Cunning Fox
One day, a cunning fox saw the elephant. The fox was very mean and liked to create trouble. He thought, “If I become friends with this elephant, I can rule the whole forest using his strength.”
The fox went to the elephant and said, “Oh mighty Elephant! You are so huge and strong. Why are you walking so slowly? Why are you being so nice to these tiny rabbits and birds?”
At first, the elephant did not listen. But the fox did not stop. Every day, the fox followed the elephant everywhere. He kept repeating poisonous ideas into the elephant’s ears.
“You are the King of this forest,” the fox whispered. “You are superior to everyone. Look at your size! You should make everyone afraid of you. That is how a big animal should live.”
The Change in the Elephant
Slowly, the fox’s bad words started working. The elephant began to think, “Yes, the fox is right. I am so big. Why should I be gentle? I am better than everyone else.”
The kind elephant changed completely. He started acting very weird and rash. Instead of walking slowly, he began to run fast through the forest. He would trumpet very loudly, scaring the poor birds. He started breaking branches and stepping on the homes of small animals.
Because of his proud behavior, all the other animals were in danger. They were all very sad and scared. “What happened to our kind friend?” the rabbits cried. But the elephant did not care. He was busy listening to the fox and feeling superior.
The Little Fly and the Elephant’s Pride
One sunny afternoon, a tiny fly was sleeping peacefully on a blade of grass. Suddenly, the ground started shaking. The elephant was running fast nearby, making a huge noise. The vibration was so strong that the poor little fly fell down from the grass.
The fly got very angry. It flew up and stood right in front of the elephant’s trunk.
“Hey, Mr. Elephant! Stop!” the fly buzzed loudly. “Do you have a brain? What are you doing? You are disturbing everyone’s peace!”
The elephant looked down at the tiny fly and started laughing with great pride. “Ha ha ha! You tiny creature! How dare you question me? I am the biggest animal here. I can do whatever I want. Go away before I crush you!”
The Lesson Learned
The fly realized that the elephant had become too proud. She decided to teach him a lesson. Suddenly, the fly zipped into the elephant’s long trunk!
Inside the trunk, the fly started moving very fast. She buzzed and tickled the sensitive skin inside. The elephant felt a strange pain and irritation. He tried to blow the fly out, but the fly was too quick. She kept moving deeper and tickling him.
The elephant started jumping in pain. He ran all over the forest, shaking his head and crying for help. “Oh, my nose! It hurts! Someone help me!” he screamed. But no one could help him because the fly was inside.
Finally, the elephant collapsed on the ground, exhausted. “Please, little fly, I am sorry!” he cried. “I was wrong. I thought I was superior because I am big, but a tiny fly like you has defeated me. Please come out!”
Seeing that the elephant had realized his mistake, the fly slowly flew out of the trunk.
The Return of Peace
The elephant took a deep breath. He looked at the animals around him and felt very ashamed. He chased the cunning fox away from the forest and promised never to listen to bad advice again.
He became the same old kind elephant once more. He walked slowly, spoke softly, and lived happily with the rabbits, peacocks, and even the tiny fly.
Moral of the Story:
Never be proud of your size or strength. True greatness lies in being kind to everyone, no matter how small they are. Also, never listen to people who give you bad advice to make you feel superior to others.
